Three Injured After Collision Involving A Train And Vehicle In Oro-Medonte

On March 11, 2023, at 5:31 p.m.,  the Orillia OPP and the Simcoe County Paramedic Services, were dispatched to Highway 12 and Mount Saint Louis Road in Oro-Medonte, Ontario, for a report of a vehicle collision involving a single motor vehicle and a train.

The motor vehicle entered the path of the train while the railway signals were engaged, causing the collision. Three occupants in the motor vehicle were transported to local Hospitals for their injuries.

There is no word on the status of the injuries. The roadway was closed for several hours for the investigation.

The OPP asks all drivers to use caution when approaching railway crossings. Trains are always much closer than they appear. Be ready to stop!
