The Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) Foundation is celebrating the success of its 2026 Power of Giving event, which raised an incredible $446,385 in support of the We See You: Inside and Out campaign.
Held September 19 at Wye Heritage Marine Resort, the annual event brought together donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community members for an evening dedicated to strengthening local healthcare. Presented by Faris Team Real Estate Brokerage, the event featured entertainment from Montreal Rhapsody Orchestra, fundraising and live auction with Layne, The Auctionista, along with an online auction and the popular GBay Bags, all benefiting Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH).
While the fundraising total is significant, Foundation staff say the greatest success was the collective effort behind it.
“Hundreds of people contributed in their own way,” says Robyn Kaczanowski, community giving officer with the GBGH Foundation. “Some attended the event, some purchased GBay Bags, some donated items and experiences, sponsored the evening, bid in the auction, volunteered their time or made a gift. Every contribution made a difference, and together those individual acts of generosity created an extraordinary result for our hospital.”
The event also served as an opportunity to celebrate the impact already being achieved through the first phase of the We See You campaign, including investments in critical equipment and technology that are enhancing patient care at GBGH. Funds raised through this year’s event will help support the next phase of priorities identified for the hospital and community.
