Food4Kids Muskoka Hosts 4th Annual Breakfast Gala To Address Growing Food Insecurity For Youth Across Muskoka

Food4Kids Muskoka invites members of the media, community leaders, and local supporters to its 4th Annual Breakfast Gala on Thursday, November 5th at 7:30am at Deerhurst Resort. As the organization enters its fourth school year of operation, this year’s gala highlights both the progress made and the urgent, ongoing need to address childhood food insecurity across the Muskoka region.

Food insecurity continues to impact local families, with rising living costs placing extra strain on households. Food4Kids Muskoka provides weekend healthy food packages directly to elementary and high school students who have limited or no access to food from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. What started as a grassroots initiative now delivers vital nourishment to hundreds of students to over 24 schools each week.

“Entering our fourth school year is both a milestone and an important reminder of how critical our Weekends Without Hunger program remains,” said Founder & Executive Director Sarah Thatcher at Food4Kids Muskoka. “Hunger doesn’t take the weekend off. The Breakfast Gala is about celebrating our community’s generosity and it is an invitation to continue raising awareness and funds to feed kids every weekend throughout the year.”

100% of the proceeds from the Breakfast Gala directly fund the purchasing and distribution of fresh, healthy food for children in Muskoka schools. With demand continuing to rise, community donations and corporate sponsorships are essential to ensure we can continue to support the 425 kids in our program.
