Bracebridge OPP officers were dispatched to a two vessel boating collision on July 14th, 2021 at 7:40 p.m. on Lake Rosseau near Windermere Marina after receiving multiple 9-1-1 calls from members of the public. Witnesses described seeing several people in the water after the collision. Officers, along with Muskoka EMS, Muskoka Lakes Fire Department, the OPP Marine Unit, the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) and the OPP Aviation Unit responded. Unfortunately, the collision claimed the life of a 13 year-old youth from Toronto and 51 year-old Donna Wiley of Oakville.
The investigation is ongoing and Bracebridge OPP is asking anyone who resides in the area where the collision occurred and who may have surveillance or video coverage of the area to share that information with investigators. Call Bracebridge OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
