Witnesses Sought After Dangerous Driving In Midland

On the evening of Tuesday June 8, 2021, around 6:40 p.m., Southern Georgian Bay OPP responded to a complaint of a driver travelling dangerously around the parking lot of Mountainview Plaza near Burger King on Highway 93 in Midland.

Witnesses report the driver of a dark SUV was drifting in circles at high speed, putting pedestrians and motorists in danger.

Police attended the area however the vehicle had was no longer there.

About 45 minutes later, OPP received several reports of a vehicle matching the description and operating dangerously in the Walmart and Tim Hortons parking lots on Highway 12 in Midland. With the assistance of witnesses, Police located the driver in a new Ford Bronco nearby and arrested him.

As a result of this investigation, Jesse Halvorsen, 33 years of Tiny Township was charged with Dangerous Operation of a Vehicle.

He was released to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 22, 2021.
