Today, Deputy Mayor Rick Maloney raised the St. John Ambulance flag in recognition of St. John Ambulance Week and 81 years of service by the Barrie Simcoe Muskoka Branch.
Since 1941, this dedicated team of 150 volunteers have worked to support the community, training over 5,780 people annually in first aid and health related courses under the guidance of a network of medical professionals. Other programs include medical first response, disaster response, car seat installation clinics, health and safety related youth programs and therapy dog services.
“The Town of Bracebridge is pleased to support St. John Ambulance and recognize their commitment to community safety. Their dedicated team of volunteers provide the vital skills necessary to making Bracebridge a safer place to live, work and play.” – Rick Maloney, Deputy Mayor, Town of Bracebridge
