The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had another busy weekend which included three more drivers charged with impaired driving.
On Friday, August 7, 2026, at 6:50 p.m., members of the Central Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) check in the area of Sparrow Lake Route D and Baseline Road in Gravenhurst when they observed a vehicle make a quick turn away from the RIDE program. Officers located the vehicle and subsequently arrested and charged 41-year-old Robin Mcintee of Gravenhurst with Impaired Operation and Over 80. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 15, 2026 to answer to his charges.
On Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 1:50 a.m., Bracebridge OPP officers were conducting general patrol in the town of Bracebridge when they conducted a traffic stop on Manitoba Street to investigate a Highway Traffic Act offence. The investigation soon turned to an impaired and police subsequently arrested and charged 23-year-old Aidan Mabee of Bracebridge, ON with Impaired Operation- Over 80. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 8, 2026 to answer to his charge.
On Monday, August 10, 2026, just before 1:00 a.m., Bracebridge OPP officers were conducting proactive patrols in the town of Gravenhurst and conducted a traffic stop after becoming concerned about the driving behaviour of a vehicle on Highway 11 South. Police stopped the vehicle and subsequently arrested and charged 20-year-old Wesley French of Gravenhurst with Impaired Operation, Over 80, Driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor and Disobey stop sign. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 15, 2026 to answer to his charges.
