The Township of Ramara is introducing its new Water Usage online Customer Portal, now available to Ramara residents and businesses receiving utility bills from the Township.
The new user-friendly portal allows users to monitor their water usage, understand current and previous bills, optimize water conservation through real-time monitoring, and customize alerts regarding water consumption. This can help identify problems such as leaking toilets and taps. To get started, users will need a copy of their utility bill and must provide their account number, email address, and name exactly as it appears on the bill.
“The Township is always working to implement innovative technology that enhances our services and provides a greater understanding and communication to our residents,” states Mayor Clarke. “This technology will equip our users, including seasonal residents, with real-time consumption information that can help them make informed decisions regarding their water consumption and help identify potential plumbing problems sooner.
Over the past two years, the Township has been working on implementing the technology as a result of being a recipient of Ontario’s Municipal Modernization Intake 2 program. With this new technology, water consumption data is relayed in real-time to the Township through a wireless communication platform, eliminating the need for laborious and time-consuming manual readings across the Township.
Over the next week, users will receive their utility bill and instructions on signing up for the portal. Users can access detailed information about the Customer Portal, including interactive videos detailing how to sign up and navigate the portal by visiting www.ramara.ca/portal. Users will also receive additional information with their bills, introducing Ramara’s new 12-month Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP) Plan to make it more convenient for them to pay their utility bills. The current PAP plan, which involves regular installments four times a year (April 30, July 31, October 31, and January 31), is still available.
