The Rene M. Caisse Memorial Theatre is set to host a landmark musical
afternoon as the Muskoka Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) takes the stage for a special
performance celebrating community, collaboration, and the power of live orchestral music during the winter season.
Founded in 2022 to bring vibrant, locally made orchestral performances to audiences across the region, the Muskoka Philharmonic Orchestra has become a local favourite. Featuring
intermediate and advanced musicians playing everything from sweeping classical masterpieces to modern hits, the ensemble highlights the incredible artistic talent thriving right here in Muskoka.
This upcoming performance on November 22 with their holiday show, Winter’s Awakening,
marks an exciting milestone in bringing orchestral music to the heart of Bracebridge.
“As the Muskoka Philharmonic Orchestra joyfully enters its fourth season in Muskoka, we could not be more excited to collaborate with Theatre Muskoka and bring our performances to Bracebridge”, says MPO’s Artistic Director, Alana Nuedling. “This season is especially
meaningful to me as we continue to grow our artistic community and create opportunities for collaboration and discovery. I am particularly excited to work with the MPO Singers, celebrate the music of Beethoven with his Symphony No. 1, champion the work of more female composers, and collaborate with our wonderful guest artists, including Kyung-A Lee Allen and our Composer-in-Residence, world renowned, James Grant. We look forward to sharing an inspiring season of music with audiences across Muskoka and welcoming everyone to the theatre.”
For Theatre Muskoka, welcoming the orchestra aligns directly with a broader mission to keep the region’s primary venue vibrant, inclusive, and eclectic year-round.
“A thriving theatre should feel like a living room for the whole community’s imagination. When you bring thirty local musicians into a theatre like ours, it fundamentally transforms the room. It’s not just a concert; it’s a living demonstration of what happens when a community nurtures its own creative heartbeat. We are thrilled to open our doors to the orchestra and give our audience an afternoon that feels both grand and deeply personal”, says Michelle Emson, Executive Director of Theatre Muskoka.
Whether you are a lifelong classical music devotee or attending your very first orchestral
concert, this performance promises an uplifting and memorable outing for the entire family.
