The Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) Auxiliary hit a major milestone with its most recent Community 50/50 draw. After a lucky Lee Ballantyne won $165,580 in the February 24 jackpot, the RVH Auxiliary has now given out over an incredible $1 million in prizes.

“I have a couple of reasons for supporting RVH that are tied to some personal health issues I have experienced over the past two years,” says Lee. “The nurses and doctors have been great supporters of me and I credit them with giving me the best gift of all – life. Supporting the RVH Auxiliary was an easy decision.”

With each monthly draw, the RVH Auxiliary continues to raise funds to support its $5 million pledge to RVH’s Moments Matter fundraising campaign. The campaign will direct the fundraising proceeds to help the tiniest patients at RVH in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with a much needed expansion.

“The community has rallied around the Auxiliary once again and we are very grateful,” says Lise McCourt, RVH Auxiliary president. “We thank everyone who has participated in the 50/50 draw and our sponsors for their on-going support of the Auxiliary and our pledge to help improve patient care at RVH.”

The next grand prize draw is on March 24. Buy your tickets by March 10 to be entered for a chance to win one of three Early Bird prizes of $1,000.

Lee and his wife, Shirley, will take time to decide what to do with the winnings; however, Lee sees a vacation on the horizon once they feel it is safe to travel again.

Tickets can be purchased until 11:59 p.m. on March 23 online at https://www.rvhauxiliary5050.com (best opened in Google Chrome).
