On September 18, 2026 shortly before 6:00p.m., members of the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a traffic complaint on Highway 11 North, Perry Township after reports of an aircraft landing on the roadway. Officers, along with emergency services responded quickly to the scene. Upon arrival, it was determined a small aircraft had experienced mechanical failure and conducted an emergency landing. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
The highway was closed briefly to safely remove the aircraft from the roadway and re-opened without incident. The OPP would like to thank motorists for their patience and cooperation during the brief road closure.
