OPP Investigating Suspicious Death In Midland

The Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a suspicious death in the Town of Midland. Investigators are appealing to the public for information.

 On April 20, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment responded to a report of an injured individual on Borsa Lane, near a public walkway from King Street to a parking lot. The individual was transported by Simcoe County Paramedic Service to a local hospital and was then transported to a Toronto-area hospital due to the severity of the injuries.

The individual has since succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Investigators have deemed this death as suspicious. Police believe this to be an isolated incident and have no reason to believe there is a threat to public safety.

The identity of the victim and the cause of death will not be released at this time.

The Southern Georgian Bay Crime Unit is conducting an investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services and the Regional Support Team, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
