The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing to investigate an incident at Killbear Provincial Park.
On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m., members of the West Parry Sound OPP responded to a report of an active shooter at Killbear Provincial Park in Carling Township.
Officers confirmed that no incident took place. The Provincial Communication Centre of the Ontario Provincial Police in Orillia also received a similar call to Bass Lake Provincial Park at the same time.
Both incidents are under investigation and further information will be release at a later time.
