No Injuries After Apartment Fire In Bracebridge

On Sunday, April 18, 2021 at around 1:30 p.m.,the Bracebridge Fire Department from multiple stations responded to a reported structure fire at a seniors apartment building on Oakwood Heights in Bracebridge.

When crews arrived, everyone was outside and they learned that buckets of water were poured on the fire to stop the spread inside one of the units. Crews were able to put the fire out quickly and ventilate the unit.

It could have been a lot worse said Bracebridge Fire Chief Murray Medley who was on scene.

The resident will stay with family while the District of Muskoka does a clean up of the unit.

There was no injuries reported.There is no word on how the fire started or a damage estimate. Everyone was allowed back inside the building a short time later and residents thanked the Fire Department as they were leaving.
