An update from TLDSB:
The hold and secure at Huntsville High School has been lifted. The regular transportation routes will continue and may be delayed in some areas.
Huntsville High School is currently in a hold and secure and the Huntsville police are currently investigating the situation. In a hold and secure exterior doors are locked and classroom routines and lessons continue. Students will not be permitted outside and cannot be signed out while a hold and secure is in place. Parents/guardians are not able to pick up their students during a hold and secure. Police are on the scene.
TLDSB will communicate further once we have more information.
Update from OPP:
Officers were concerned for the safety and well-being of a person in emotional distress. The hold and secure was a safety precaution. The person was located safely. The hold and secure has been lifted. Thank you everyone for patience and understanding.
Huntsville OPP have placed Huntsville High School in a hold and secure due to the proximity of an active police investigation. There is not believed to be a public safety risk. Expect increased police presence and avoid the area. Investigation has concluded.
