On Sunday June 13, at 3:30 p.m., the township of Perry fire department responded to a structure fire on Boundary Rd in Novar.
When the first Perry fire truck arrived on scene they requested mutual aid assistance from the Huntsville fire department as the fire had spread to the bush.
A system of automatic aid was activated and the Perry department had assistance from the Kearney, Sprucedale, Burk’s Falls, and Magnetawan departments.
The homeowner was home at the time of the fire and was able to escape without injury. They are saying with a neighbour at this time.
The fire is not suspicious and still under investigation as to the cause.
The fire department says the home is a total loss.
