Driving On A Flat Tire Leads To Several Charges For Midland Resident

Driving with a flat tire can sure lead you into a lot of problems as a Midland resident recently found out. A officer from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment patrolling the Golf Link Road area of Tiny Township at approximately 2:08 p.m. May 22, 2024, noticed a pick up truck driving with a flat rear tire. Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer noted another issue as to how well attached another tire was to the vehicle which lead to a further investigation into the road worthiness of the vehicle and operators drivers licence status.

As a result of this investigation the vehicle operator – Brandon Jacques 25 years of Midland was arrested and charged criminally for the offence of – Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code and further with the following Provincial offences violations.

  • Driving while under suspension
  • Operate unsafe vehicle
  • Improperly installed tires
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
  • Improper tires
  • Improper braking system
  • Fail to have insurance card

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 4, 2024 on these charges.
