Three inpatients in the Medical/Surgical unit at South Muskoka Hospital have been diagnosed with COVID-19. In a press release, Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare declared an outbreak at the site.
The impacted patients cannot have visitors except in approved special circumstances.
Testing of patients and staff continue to occur as part of outbreak management protocols, and enhanced cleaning practices are underway to limit spread.
