Burks Falls Resident Charged With Impaired Driving On Hwy 11

On Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 7:15 p.m., Almaguin Highlands OPP conducted a routine traffic stop on Highway 11 in Armour Township.

The driver of the vehicle underwent a roadside test. Police investigation revealed that Christopher Campbell, 37 years-of-age, of Burks Falls, Ontario, had consumed alcoholic beverages and was subsequently arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin)
  • Speeding 1- 49 km/h over the posted limit

The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday April 28, 2022 in Sundridge Ontario.
