The OPP say as a result of an ongoing internal investigation, members with the OPP Office of Professionalism, Respect, Inclusion and Leadership (previously known as Professional Standards Bureau) arrested an officer on December 28, 2020.
Sergeant Jamie Gillespie, a 20-year member, currently serving at the Wellington County OPP Detachment, has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
· Attempt to intercept private communication.
· Obstruct Justice.
· Breach of trust.
· Counselling offence that is not committed – indictable offence.
· Obstruct Peace Officer.
The officer is currently suspended and is scheduled to appear in court on January 29, 2021.
Paid suspension I bet…. SMH
One bad apple makes the whole force look bad. If he is guilty I hope they throw the book at him.

Took long enough to find out he was no good. 43 division in scarbrough should be checked out. Lots of bad apples and they seem to be a breed of their own .I’ve been suffering for years and they have done nothing but forget about the unspeakable things that have happened to me

Probably bull charges trumped up by the OPP Internal Affairs. How can you Police when thier are more people investigating the Police than the crooks.
Put your resources to better use like arresting Covid violators !
Sad thing is, its all about the good old blue line of gang members. From what I know they are a gang with the full support of the law. Examples i can give is one officer from a local force was reprimanded for past issues and while serving out his consequences for that crime he drove a police car knowing he had no liscence and damaged the cruiser then tried to cover it up by taking the police car to a friend to have him fix it. At his tribunal they seen fit to have him either be fired or let him resign. The officer is appealing that decision. Another officer who is with the same force was caught drinking and driving he pledguilty and yet he still has a job. Iam a truck driver and if I were to be caught by either of those officers they would have shown me no remorse and treat me horrible during the same process.. just sad to have a gang mentality enforcing us when they don’t see or feel that they answer to anyone and ever loose a days pay or loose there job.
Definitely a lot more than one.
After two years of investigation during which he received full salary, there will be a trial two years from now, during which time he will be on paid leave. After his trial and whatever the result, there will then be an internal professional standards hearing; add another year of paid leave. Even if then fired he will have received 5 years full salary plus benefits including five years of pensionable earnings added to his already fat pension.
That is how we deal with bad cops in Canada.
If cops didn’t get paid leave and maybe something more suitable like 5x the consequences of a civilian, because they abused their position. I bet there would be a lot less corruption in our police forces.

No doubt the majority here are your typical ‘anti-establishment’ types that have had run-ins with the police because of their own stupidity/rebellious attitudes and/or they’ve taken media to be honest…The media is no one’s friend…They exist to fan the flames in society and brainwash people….They’ll have people believing that ANY police interaction must be racially-motivated or dirty in nature as examples…Just because YOU dont understand some police decisions, dont assume the police are wrong. Due to laws that are in place, police cannot always respond publicly to questions from the media in certain matters. DO NOT ASSUME THAT SILENCE FROM THE POLICE MEANS GUILT which I believe is happening. The vast, vast majority of police officers are trying their best out there in a society that has become more Godless by the day…Maybe if those who just want to complain about their problems they’ve had with the police looked inward, they would realize that their own views, selfishness, rebellion, self-righteousness may be the root of the problem.
