Witnesses Sought

Southern Georgian Bay OPP and Simcoe County Paramedics say they responded to a collision on Thompson Road in Penetanguishene at 8:13 a.m. February 23, 2022.
Investigators from the OPP Central Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team are assisting officers into the cause of the crash between a large commercial vehicle with two occupants and a passenger car with one occupant.
The investigation is ongoing and further information will be provided when available.
This mornings crash has claimed the life of Benjamin David Fordham, 32 years of Elmvale who was the only occupant of the passenger vehicle at the time of the crash.
The two occupants of the commercial vehicle were triaged at scene for minor injuries by paramedics.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing and it is anticipated that motorists can expect Thompsons Road to remain closed until approximately 4:00 p.m. February 23, 2022.
