Two families have been displaced from their homes after a fire on Tuesday evening.
The Severn Fire Department got the call for the fire on J.V. Parkway near Carlyon Line at around 7:40 p.m. Firefighters started an offensive attack after seeing heavy smoke and flames on arrival. Two homes and a detached garage were destroyed by the fire. Two stations with five trucks trucks and about 20 firefighters were on scene at the height of it.
With several vehicles and pedestrian traffic in the area making it difficult for firefighters to battle the blaze, the fire department is reminding everyone to avoid the area when there is an active incident and give crews space to work.
There were no injuries reported and crews were on scene until about 12:40 a.m. The fire department told Muskoka411 News that the cause is under investigation and there is no word on a damage estimate.
