Bracebridge OPP officers were notified by members of the public who noticed a vehicle parked in the area of Power Point Road in Bracebridge, that matched the description of one related to a missing person investigation, Mark Nevins from Huntsville.

Officers attended the area and confirmed that it was the same vehicle last that Mr. Nevins was with. Officers did not find anyone with the vehicle and immediately commenced a search of the area around the hydro dam and river with the assistance of the OPP Canine Unit.

The search is continuing today with the assistance of the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU). Members of the public are asked to stay away from that area in order that a full search can be conducted.

More details will be released as they become available.
