Police initiated a traffic stop and charge three people with drug and criminal offences.
On March 16, 2023, at 2 a.m. the West Parry Sound OPP initiated a traffic stop, on Highway 69 in Archipelago Township, north of Parry Sound.
As a result of further investigation, officers seized over $6,000 of suspected cocaine and fentanyl and over $10,000 in Canadian currency. Adam Markell 44 years-of-age of Sudbury, Devonte Blair 26 years-of-age and Treyfon Farrell 26 years-of-age both from Scarborough, Ontario have been arrested and charged with:
- Trafficking in Schedule 1 substance – Opioid
Blair was further charged with:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Fail to stop for police
- Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
Farrell was further charged with:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Fail to comply with probation
Markell was further charged with:
- Possession of Schedule 1 substance – cocaine
- Fail to comply with release order – three counts
All of the accused remain in custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on March 17, 2023.
