Three More Impaired Drivers Reported By Bracebridge OPP

Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three people with impaired driving offenses over the course of the weekend.

On January 26, 2024, at 9:00 p.m. a member of the public called police about a vehicle that was in the ditch on Muskoka Road 169 near Redwood Road in Muskoka Lakes Township, the caller stopped to assist and became concerned about the persons ability to drive. Officers responded and subsequently arrested and charged 26-year-old David Baldwib of Gravenhurst, ON with the following:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order X 2

He was held in custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 31, 2024 to answer to his charges.

On January 27, 2024 at 10:00 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a dispute between two people who were travelling on Peninsula Road in Gravenhurst. Officers attended, commenced an investigation and arrested and charged 60-year-old Scott Mansbridge of Huntsville, ON with Impaired Operation. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on February 20, 2024 to answer to his charge.

On January 28, 2024 at 2:00 a.m. a member of the public called police to express their concerns about a persons ability to drive after they left an address in Bracebridge. Police conducted patrols and located and stopped the vehicle on Bethune Drive in Gravenhurst. As a result of their investigation, police arrested and charged 47-year-old Jennifer Racicot of Gravenhurst with Operation While Impaired- Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b). She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on March 12, 2024 to answer to her charge.

Information from concerned and attentive members of the public is key in efforts to take impaired drivers off the road and create safer driving conditions for everyone. The consequences for impaired driving in the province of Ontario, beyond the criminal charge, includes a 90 day drivers license suspension and a 7 day vehicle impound.
