‘The Mayor’s Tea’ Returns June 8 In Gravenhurst

The Recreation Services Division is thrilled to announce the return of the Annual Mayor’s Tea to the Gravenhurst Opera House on Wednesday June 8th.

The annual event will return for its 36th year after being on hiatus for the past two years due to the pandemic. “I’m really excited to welcome everyone back to the Opera House to enjoy tea, fellowship and celebrate spring,” said Mayor Paul Kelly.

This free event is open to the entire community. It will feature refreshments, entertainment with Sue and Dwight and the announcement of the Gravenhurst Senior of the Year Award. Bus services to and from local seniors’ residence including, Muskoka Shores, Manor of Gravenhurst and Granite Ridge Retirement Residence will be generously provided by Hammond Transportation LTD.

This year refreshments will be served in two separate seating’s in the Trillium Court at the Opera House. The serving times are at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Guests will be entertained by Sue and Dwight, the 60’s folk revival musical group, beginning at 12:00 pm. The public are asked to R.S.V.P. in advance for their free ticket by calling the Recreation Division at 705-687-6774 Ext. 2122 or emailing Jeffery.McConkey@gravenhurst.ca by Wednesday June 1st.

Guests attending the event will be treated to catering by the students of Gravenhurst Highschool and served coffee or tea by Mayor Kelly and Council.
