The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged one male with numerous child related sex offences and are calling on the public’s assistance in identifying the victims involved.
On August 10, 2025, shortly after 12:00 a.m. members of the Orillia OPP received information regarding a pornography offence involving a minor. Orillia OPP began an investigation into the accusations. On Thursday September 18, 2025, The Orillia OPP Major Crime Unit attended an address in the Township of Ramara and arrested one male party.
As a result of this investigation; Douglas Beemer, 34 year-old, of the Township of Ramara is charged with:
- Sexual Assault – two counts
- Sexual Interference – two counts
- Access any Child Pornography
- Makes, Prints, Publishes or Possession for the Purpose of Publication Any Child Pornography
- Possession of Child Pornography
- Imports, Distributes, Sells or possesses for the Purpose of distribution or sale of any Child Pornography
The accused was remanded into custody.
