Public Parking Changes At Gravenhurst Fire Station Headquarters

0

The Gravenhurst Fire Department in collaboration with the Gravenhurst By-law and Facilities divisions are in the process of eliminating four parking spaces adjacent to Station #1 Fire Department Headquarters at 190 Harvie Street. The purpose of elimination is to allow for the maneuvering of large station vehicles and apparatus for training and maintenance purposes.

“We appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation with this small change at Station #1. It will provide greater flexibility and increased safety for the public around the station,” said Gravenhurst Fire Chief Jared Cayley.

“Before any parking enforcement is to occur, an education and awareness blitz will take place, with the By-law division issuing friendly notices for the next two weeks, should anyone park in these identified spaces,” said Cayley. Following this transition period, parking tickets will be issued.

While four parking spaces are being removed, available spaces remain in this lot in addition to the existing parking spaces across from the station on Harvie street.

The Fire Department appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation.
