Members of the community are invited to complete an online survey to provide their feedback on the proposed plan on engagebracebridge.ca by Thursday, February 29.

The South Monck/Covered Bridge Trail is approximately eight kilometers long and travels along open fields and through a forested area with diverse terrain. The trail is enjoyed by visitors year-round for hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing.

To ensure the safe enjoyment of trail users moving forward, there are a number of proposed repairs and enhancements to be made, including:

  • Restoring the existing trails;
  • Completing informal routes;
  • Installing wayfinding signage; and
  • Developing new single-track mountain bike trails.

In addition to the above changes, this trail is identified as an area for potential improvement in the Recreation, Parks and Trails Master Plan, and includes:

  • The consideration for dedicated mountain biking trails, new routes and formalization of existing informal routes, with signage and feature development; and
  • Ongoing promotion of mountain biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, walking/hiking as primary trail activities and opportunities to engage in activities to support health and wellness.
