Orillia OPP have responded to a collision on Highway 11, Oro-Medonte.
On July 12, 2021, shortly after 5 a.m., officers responded to a report of a collision on Highway 11 northbound between Line 9 and Line 10. The male driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Unrelated to the collision, a tow operator was transported to hospital in medical distress (heart attack) and, tragically, has been pronounced deceased. The deceased has been identified as Wayne (Sampson) Whitechurch, age 71, of Oro-Medonte.
The highway, which had remained closed pending investigation, has since been reopened.
