The Orillia OPP have located an overdue boater deceased on Bass Lake in the Township of Oro-Medonte.
On April 28, 2023, shortly before noon, Orillia OPP was contacted regarding a male who had gone fishing and failed to return home at the scheduled time. The Orillia OPP Marine Unit, OPP Aviation Services, Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) and OPP Canine Unit have assisted with search efforts.
On May 3, 2023, members of the USRU located the missing person deceased. The deceased has been identified as a 47-year-old male of Orillia.
The name of the male has not been released.
