OPP Remove Impaired Tay Township Driver From Heritage Drive In Midland

In the early hours of April 2, 2022 Southern Georgian Bay OPP were patrolling the area of Heritage Drive and Jones Road, Midland after receiving a driving complaint from the community involving a pick up truck. At 1:35 a.m. officers noted the speed of an eastbound pick up truck on Heritage Drive, made the stop and spoke with the driver entering into an impaired driver investigation.

The investigation has resulted in Robert Belanger-Stanich. 18 years of Tay Township being charged with the following offences.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
  • Race a motor vehicle-Stunt
  • Speeding 50+ Km/h over posted limit
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused was released from custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on April 21, 2022 and also faces a drivers licence suspension of 90 days and the vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days as per the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.
