An officer on patrol from Southern Georgian Bay OPP at 11:41 a.m. July 13, 2021 noted a vehicle on Simcoe County Road 6 being operated by an possible impaired driver. The officer spoke with the driver and entered into an impaired driving investigation, making an arrest at the roadside .
As a result of this investigation Peter Wanless, 63 years of Springwater Township has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and further with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and further with driving with liquor readily available and driving with open Liquor.
The accused was released on an recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on July 29, 2021 and is subject to a 90 day licence suspension and vehicle tow/impound under the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.
