Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at an apartment complex in Midland.
On Friday, July 31, 2026, shortly after 8:00 p.m., officers responded to a residence on King Street after gunshots were reported. One individual was located with gunshot wounds and taken to a local hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. At this time police believe this to be an isolated incident but are urging local residents to remain vigilant and to report any recent or ongoing suspicious activity to police.
Residents of Midland can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
