Orillia OPP have arrested and charged an individual from Orillia with impaired driving in Severn Township.
On June 20, 2022, shortly after 6:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a reported impaired driver on Highway 12 in Severn Township. Officers located and stopped the driver, who was subsequently arrested and transported to the Orillia Detachment for further investigation.
As a result, Danielle Cameron, 31 years of age, of Orillia, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Novice Driver BAC – above zero
- Drive- Handheld Communication Device
The accused was released on an Undertaking and is set to appear on July 12, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia. Their vehicle was impounded for seven days and were issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS).
Orillia OPP have charged sixty people with impaired operation since January 1, 2022. Impaired driving continues to have a detrimental impact in our community. If you choose to drink or use intoxicating substances, don’t drive. Use alternate means of transportation or stay overnight. We encourage all citizens to call 911 if they witness a suspected impaired driver when it is safe to do so.
