OPP Arrest Suspect In Midland Drug Possession Investigation

Members of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment responded to a report of a person possessing a quantity of street drugs in a Midland area medical centre at about 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 13.

Attending officers located the suspect and, upon investigation, seized a quantity of street drugs believed to be fentanyl. Alexandra Assance, 31 years of Christian Island, is charged with the offence of Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Opioid (other than heroin), contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act. The accused was released to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 28.
