Almaguin Highlands OPP say they responded to an unknown vehicle parked near a home (Friday June 18, 2021 at 10:45 pm) on Forest Lake Road, Sundridge. Responding officers arrived and located two off road vehicles (ORV). One driver fled the scene and the other driver was stopped for not wearing a helmet.
Further police investigation revealed that the driver, Cale Guergis, 21 years-of-age of Springwater Township had been drinking and was subsequently arrested and charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and driver – no helmet or improper helmet.
The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused will appear in court at the end of August.
