Traffic complaints and enforcement:
Sixty-nine investigations were conducted by detachment members during this time frame.
R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere)
Sixteen, R.I.D.E lanes were set up by detachment members on area roadways during this time frame.
Impaired Investigations:
On November 11, 2022, a vehicle was stopped in a R.I.D.E. lane set up on Main St. West in the town of Huntsville. An officer detected an odour of alcohol coming from the driver. As a result of the investigation, Melanie Ursell (55 years of age) of Huntsville, Ontario was charged with operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol in his blood
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear on December 13, 2022, in the Ontario Court of Justice, Muskoka.
Motor Vehicle Collisions:
Nine, motor vehicle collisions were investigated during this time frame. Please reduce your risk of being involved in a collision by following the rules of the road, and drive according to conditions i.e.: construction, weather, volume of traffic.
Domestic Violence Investigations:
Detachment members investigated 11 domestic disputes during this time frame. Charges were laid in relation to 4 of these11 investigations.
On November 10, 2022, officers responded to a domestic occurrence. The accused has been charged with assault. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear on December 20, 2022, in the Ontario Court of Justice, Muskoka.
On November 11, 2022, officers responded to a domestic occurrence. The accused has been charged with fail to comply with an undertaking. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear on December 20, 2022, in the Ontario Court of Justice, Muskoka.
On November 12, 2022, officers responded to a domestic occurrence. The accused has been charged with sexual assault. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear on January 3, 2023, in the Ontario Court of Justice, Muskoka.
On November 13, 2022, officers responded to a domestic occurrence. The accused has been charged with the following:
– Assault with a weapon
– Two counts of failure to comply with an undertaking
– Break and enter
– Mischief to property
– Utter threats
The accused was held for a bail hearing on Nov 14, 2022. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear on November 29, 2022, in the Ontario Court of Justice, Muskoka.
