Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have identified additional victims and laid further charges in connection with an ongoing fraud investigation.
The investigation was initiated following multiple reports of theft and fraud involving patients and staff members within healthcare facilities. As part of the investigation, officers executed several search warrants and seized a significant quantity of property.
As a result of the investigation, Nassim Eronn, 34 years old from Burlington, was further charged and now faces a total of 65 Criminal Code offences:
- Fraud under $5000 – 34 counts
- Theft under $5000 – 13 counts
- Disobeying a Court Order – 7 counts
- Criminal Breach of Trust – 4 counts
- Fraud over $5000 – 2 counts
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 – 3 counts
- Theft over $5000
- Personation with intent
The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by the Orillia OPP Crime Unit and involves incidents that are alleged to have occurred at the following healthcare facilities during the dates indicated:
- Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (Orillia, ON) – between April 2025 and March 2026;
- Headwaters Health Care Centre (Orangeville, ON) – between August 2026 and September 2026;
- Trillium Health Partners, Mississauga Hospital (Mississauga, ON) – between August 2025 and July 2026;
- St. Joseph’s Health Centre (Toronto, ON)- between July 2024 and January 2025; and
- West Park Health Care Centre (Toronto, ON)- between February 2024 and April 2024.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims, including patients, visitors and staff members who attended these facilities during the timeframes listed above. Anyone who attended one of the identified hospitals during the relevant period is encouraged to review their financial records for unauthorized transactions.
