Downtown Tomorrow Plan Update survey available until June 13

The City of Orillia invites members of the public to have their say and provide feedback through an online survey to help inform an update of the current Downtown Tomorrow Plan, which provides a long-term vision for the City’s downtown.

“The Downtown Tomorrow Plan was informed by input from our community and has guided the direction of many initiatives to better Orillia’s downtown area. Now it’s time to update the plan and we want to hear from our residents, businesses and neighbours to understand their vision for the downtown looking forward to the next 10-to-20 years. Please have your say and fill out the online survey so that your voice and ideas can be heard. Together we can build a vision for the future of the downtown for the whole community,” said Mayor Don McIsaac.

The online survey is available at orillia.ca/downtowntomorrow until June 13, 2023. Hard copies can be picked up at the Orillia Public Library, located at 36 Mississaga St. W., or at Orillia City Centre, located at 50 Andrew St. S., and can be submitted to the first-floor service desk at Orillia City Centre.

“The online survey provides an opportunity to share your opinion about Orillia’s downtown, including what you would like to see in the future,” said Jill Lewis, Senior Planner. “The feedback received through community consultation will help inform updates to the long-term vision, goals, strategic initiatives and priority actions for the Downtown Tomorrow Plan.”

The survey is part of a series of consultations taking place, including facilitated visioning and feedback sessions and roundtable workshops to explore a range of potential initiatives. The information gathered from the consultation will inform a draft updated Downtown Tomorrow Plan, which will be presented to Council and the community for further feedback later this fall. It is anticipated the final updated plan will be brought forward to Council for consideration by the end of 2023.
