This February, Neutrogena Canada has partnered with Melanoma Canada to sponsor their 7 Summits Snowshoe Challenge for Skin Cancer. They are inviting Canadians to take part in the challenge and join them in snowshoeing, biking, running, or skiing the distance equal to the world’s 7 tallest summits while raising awareness for melanoma and promoting sun safety while being active in the wintertime!
On Sunday, March 3 at 9 am ET, guests are invited to Hardwood Ski and Bike in Ontario’s Lake Country region to complete their final 5 KM. Attendees at this family-friendly event will get to snowshoe across beautiful trails and enjoy the Sip and Savour food and drink stations prepared by celebrity chefs at every kilometer. Those who can’t make it to the event in person can take the challenge virtually by registering on 7summits.ca.
In Canada, melanoma is one of the most common types of cancer for ages 15-49 and many cases are caused by excessive sun exposure. People everywhere should take sun protection measures, including daily use of sunscreen regardless of the time of year – especially considering snow can reflect the sun’s UV rays by up to 88%.
