Haliburton OPP with the assistance of an alert local resident successfully located a child that was reported missing yesterday.
On Thursday November 24, 2022, shortly after noon, the OPP were called after a child was discovered missing from a school in the Wilberforce area. OPP members from Bancroft, Haliburton Highlands as well as OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), OPP Central Region Canine and OPP Emergency Response Teams (ERT) quickly responded to the area.
A short time later, police received information from an alert community member, who reported seeing the child.
Thanks to the community effort, the child was returned safely to family.
