On December 3, Gravenhurst High School (GHS) hosted their first-ever Holiday Market to engage with the local community, while raising funds for various clubs and activities within the school.
Organized by school staff, with the support from students, the event took place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and welcomed 30 vendors from the community who sold an array of locally made products including textiles, woodworking, jewelry, sewing, ceramics, canvas art, and food. Within the vendor group were current GHS students who own their own business – what entrepreneurs!
The market raised approximately $3,000, and will now be an annual event held on the first Saturday of December each year.
