The legendary Lightfoot Band, the longtime backup ensemble of the late Gordon Lightfoot, is thrilled to announce two special workshops on Friday, November 1st. As part of the Lightfoot Days Festival in Orillia, this unique event will be held at Creative Nomad Studios, located at 23 Mississaga Street West.
Join them for an unforgettable experience as we dive into the rich history and musical legacy of Gordon Lightfoot. The workshops will feature two engaging sessions filled with informative discussions, live demonstrations of instrument parts and arrangements, and insights into Gordon’s profound influence on music. This is a fantastic opportunity for fans to ask questions and connect with the music that shaped a generation.
The Lightfoot Band comprises the original members who toured and recorded with Gordon Lightfoot for decades. Band veterans Rick Haynes (bass), Barry Keane (drums and percussion), Mike Heffernan (keyboards), and Carter Lancaster (lead guitar) will share their experiences from years of international touring across Canada, the U.S., Europe, and beyond. Joining them is Andy Mauck, a close friend of Lightfoot’s for nearly 50 years, who brings his deep understanding of Gordon’s craft to ensure the music continues to resonate with audiences today.
