The Muskoka Lakes Fire Department from the Windermere and Raymond stations were called to a chimney fire on Monday night.
Crews worked for 30 minutes to knock three loose pails of burning creosote inside the chimney, extinguishing with a dry chem extinguisher and a water can.
The fire department says please keep your flue clean and have working smoke/ CO alarms.
There were no injuries and no displaced residents. There is no word on a damage estimate.
