The Orillia Museum of Art & History (OMAH) is hosting a fundraising event on Saturday, June 10, 2023. Participants will visit six new works of public art located throughout the city before returning to the museum to enjoy entertainment, refreshments, prizes and a live auction. The works of art, part of the Crossroads, Connections, and Intersections project have been installed this spring, courtesy of a grant awarded to OMAH by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario). The works of art are part of the City of Orillia’s public art collection.
The art is located across the city along the trail network, at road intersections and gateways to Orillia, making them accessible to explore by foot, bike or car. Each piece can be found in a different neighbourhood, near a cluster(s) of restaurants, accommodations, shops, and activities for people to explore.
Tickets are $50 each and include a boxed lunch from Mariposa Market and upon returning to OMAH after completing the tour, participants will receive a native pollinator plant donated by Parklane Landscapes. There is no cost to children under age 18. This is a great opportunity for all ages to participate. While at the museum, view the exhibitions, listen to performances by Bella and Steph Dunn. Door prizes will be awarded followed by a live auction (items are updated weekly on our website).
Funds raised from this event will support the development of cultural activities and programs
There is also still the opportunity for local businesses to sponsor the event. People who attend these events are local professionals, business people, arts, heritage, and cultural supporters, and community influencers — a great opportunity to reinforce your community connections.
