Celebrating A Decade Of Impact: Charlee’s Run Registration Opens For Milestone 10th Anniversary

Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) Foundation is pleased to announce that registration is now open for Charlee’s Run 2026, presented by Lake Country Office Solutions. Taking place on Saturday, May 2 at Tudhope Park in Orillia, Ontario, this year marks the 10th anniversary of the event.
Charlee’s Run is a family friendly 1K and 5K run or walk fundraiser supporting Neonatal and Paediatric care and the Bereavement Program at OSMH. More than that, this event brings together families and communities to connect over their shared experiences, to celebrate, and support each other.
Charlee’s Run is named in honour of Charlee Clare Holmes, who passed away in 2011 only a few hours after birth. Her parents, Dave and Mallory Holmes, started the run as a way to end the silence surrounding pregnancy and infant loss.
“What started as a thought at our kitchen table has grown into something more beautiful than we ever could have hoped for,” said Dave Holmes.
“It has been 10 years of sharing stories, tears, hugs, blowing bubbles and remembering. 10 years of being surrounded by a village of people who understand. Who continue to show up to ensure that no family ever feels alone in their loss. 10 years of helping us carry on the legacy of our daughter; and as her parents we could not be more grateful for all of you; for the Charlee’s Run village,” said Mallory Homes.
Over the past decade, Charlee’s Run has raised more than $950,000 to support the purchase of life-saving equipment and program enhancements for the hospital’s tiniest and most vulnerable patients. This year, the OSMH Foundation aims to raise an additional $200,000, surpassing the incredible milestone of $1 million raised.
This level of dedication from the community has transformed care for families across the region, providing comfort and critical resources during life’s most vulnerable moments.
“Charlee’s Run represents the very best of our community. People coming together to make a lasting impact for families, said Perry Esler, President and CEO, OSMH Foundation. “As we celebrate 10 years, we reflect on the many lives touched and many lives saved. Every step taken in this event helps ensure that babies and families across communities receive exceptional care and support when they need it most.”
Join Mallory and Dave Holmes and the OSMH Foundation for the 10th anniversary of Charlee’s Run. The event includes family friendly activity stations and is pet friendly.
