What began as a new fundraising idea at Cavalcade Ford has resulted in an incredible $51,000 donation to South Muskoka Hospital Foundation, the dealership’s largest single gift since its first recorded donation in 1987.
During the dealership’s Employee Pricing Event in August and September, Cavalcade Ford
committed to donating $500 from every new or used vehicle sold. The first time initiative
received strong support from customers and raised $51,000 for the hospital.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who purchased a vehicle and helped make this
campaign such a success,” said Will Miller, owner of Cavalcade Ford. “Our hospital serves
our employees, customers, families and neighbours, so supporting it means a great deal to
all of us at Cavalcade Ford. We are proud that this initiative generated a $51,000 donation
and that every vehicle sold helped support better care for people across South Muskoka.
We hope our campaign inspires other local businesses to find their own creative ways to
support the hospital.”
Cavalcade Ford’s connection to the hospital extends well beyond this campaign. The
dealership is a Gold Level Business Partner, and supports Foundation events and
community initiatives throughout the year.
“This $51,000 gift is an extraordinary example of what can happen when a local business
creates a new and engaging way for its customers to support healthcare,” said Leah Walker,
Foundation CEO at South Muskoka Hospital Foundation. “Cavalcade Ford supports our
hospital time and again, through its Business Partner pledge, its involvement in our events
and now this incredibly successful campaign. We value our relationship with the Miller
family and the entire Cavalcade Ford team, and we hope their leadership encourages other
businesses and community members to consider how they can help.”
Funds raised through the campaign will help South Muskoka Hospital Foundation provide
equipment, technology and resources that government funding does not cover. Charitable
support helps place modern diagnostic and surgical equipment in the hands of healthcare
professionals, supports staff education and recruitment, introduces new technology and
improves the care experience for patients and families.
The donation comes just two days before South Muskoka Hospital Foundation’s 19th
Annual Moose FM 99.5 Radiothon, taking place on October 9th, 2026, with a goal of raising
$100,000 for emergency care at the hospital. The Radiothon will invite individuals, families
and businesses across the community to build on the spirit of generosity demonstrated by
Cavalcade Ford.
“Cavalcade Ford has set an inspiring example as we head into Radiothon,” added Walker.
“Every gift made that day will help us move closer to our $100,000 goal and provide our
healthcare teams with the equipment, technology and resources they need to care for our
community.”
