The Town of Bracebridge is pleased to offer free menstrual products in all Town facilities with the introduction of new dispenser units in both universal and female washrooms. Council approved a motion to provide free menstrual products to the community in October 2022.

Dispensers have been installed in the following Town facilities:

  • Municipal Office, 1000 Taylor Court
  • Bracebridge Sportsplex, 110 Clearbrook Trail
  • Bracebridge Memorial Arena, 169 James Street
  • James W. Kerr Park Chalet, 130 Beaumont Drive

Dispensers will also be installed in all parks facilities next week. All dispensers will be stocked as part of the Town’s regular maintenance schedule.

Menstrual products are a basic need for maintaining the health and wellness of Canadians. The incorporation of these dispensers removes barriers to access and contributes to a safe and healthy community. These dispensers will be incorporated into the design of all future facilities, including the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre, and the Town will review the option of installing dispensers in other municipal locations.

“I am proud to see free menstrual products available in all Town facilities. Bracebridge is committed to community wellness and vitality, and by removing the barrier to access, we are empowering our community to focus on their health.” – Rick Maloney, Mayor, Town of Bracebridge
