The Orillia OPP are currently investigating a serious motor vehicle collision on Old Barrie Road in Oro-Medonte.
On May 12, 2023, just before 1:30 p.m., Orillia OPP, Simcoe County Paramedic Service and Township of Oro-Medonte Fire, were dispatched to Old Barrie Road at Line 14 for a report of a two-vehicle collision. One driver was transported to a local hospital, where they were then transported by Ornge to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. No other injuries reported at the scene.
The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team attended the collision scene to assist with the investigation. Old Barrie Road from Line 15 to Line 13 and Line 14 to Highway 11 was closed for the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing and more details will be provided as they become available.
